Easy-to-Use Workstations: Step-by-step assembly instructions clearly guide the user through production. Visual aids such as pictures of components, examples and even instructional videos can be linked to specific steps at a station. Defect alerts are clearly displayed so there’s no chance of an oversight.

Integrated Preventative Poka-yokes: Pyramid’s workstation software offers a multitude of built-in component verification features such as part number validation, torque driver interlocks, part verification arrays, “Pick-to-light” support, Serial number tracking and online verification.

Defect Tracking: Both product and supplier defects can be easily recorded by the assemblers on the production line. With Pyramid you can identify defects as they occur, annunciate and notify personnel of the issue and then store/track defect information during the process and after even after shipment.

As the defective part travels down the production line, software tracks it and automatically displays any related defects when the build information for the part is displayed. Un-repaired defects are easily discernible, and repairs can begin anywhere along the line. When repairs are done they’re recorded by a simple scan of a special barcode. The defect information is retained in the production history for that assembly and to be used in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) calculations.

Line Control and “Flex Mode”: Pyramid lets you logically track a work item through both manual and automated production. Prevent an incomplete item from leaving an assembly station and stop the lien if needed. On the other hand, if work is completed early, it is released to the next station. If the downstream station is ready for the next item, the item is automatically loaded into the station even though the carrier has not yet entered the station.

All of these efforts channel into the next phase of Error-Proofing, Analysis and Optimization, a level that few operations leverage effectively.
